Yes. That is, no nested tables. Normalize

You do have a SET datatype. check it out if you like (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/set.html), but even if that would suit your requirements, I'd still advise you to normalize

(Q: for what purpose do you use Oracle nested tables?)
