Unfortunately still nobody has reported OWN EXPERIENCES with either (see my original question), but it is always "... you could also try ...". Thanks, though, anyways.
Well ... i think i have wittled it down now to the SoftGalaxy Converter, which, at least from the descriptions on their web pages, seems the only one to preserve relations, and offers synchronization of both table columns as well as records. The latter feature seems like something useful for a live database, because it may allow to migrate the data, debugging all issues with the ported backend as well as the adjustments required to the frontend and then, after a last synchronization, the switch for the users. Seems very useful for novices like me.
