We are in immediate need of Mid to Senior Level MySQL DBA’s.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for management of MySQL databases used in rapidly changing environment.
- Identify and resolve performance issues related to SQL queries, application, database engine, operating system and hardware.
- Responsible for data architecture definition for production system enhancements and new projects.
- Perform database design, performance tuning and optimization, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, user management, and security management.
- Provide support to development staff in the form of issue resolution involving all aspects of the MySQL environment.
- Maintain and create UNIX scripts as required.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:·
- We are seeking Mid to Senior level candidates with 2-5 years+ experience explicitly in a database administration role with MySQL 4.X
- SQL and UNIX scripting proficiency
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred, but not required
- Experience on an Apache-Linux platform preferred.
- General systems administration principles a plus.
- Data Architecting
- Clustering & Replication
- Experience working with developers in a production environment
- Knowledge of MYSQL 5.0 beta preferred
