An additional fact to the testing of this table I mentioned above.
I create a database in MDB format on my workstation and exported it to the table without any hickups. When I call it from the HTML page to look at the data collection from MySQL, it always returns ? or char(63).
It is listed in the specifications for MS and MySQL that the format conversions should be automatic, but my MS Access table is alos fully unicode supporting at this stage. As long I look at the dictionary in Access it shows all characters without any problem.
The conversion failure should only occure, according to MS, if the original location/file (in this case the MDB file and its interface) did not support Unicode at all.
Also note, I test the html displays in UTF8, Windows default, EUCJP, SJIS and JIS charactersets and they all show the same result.
So, back to the original question again, if anyone figures this one out, please drop me an e-mail.
MySql newbie, using Win XP Pro SP1 / MySQL 5.0.19 Win-nt for dev. test and learning.
