sorry still lost on this command.

When I query
SELECT HEX(city) - this is entire query
i get
#1054 - Unknown column "city" in "field list"

City is the name of my column with utf8 names.
If I enter city in quotes like SELECT HEX('city') i get what i presume is hexadecimal code for "city".

I ran queries from phpmyadmin after i have selected desired table...
