Thanks to chriss83!

Making sure that the first column was numeric (although the type of the Access field didn't seem to matter), enabled me to migrate all my tables. I simply found any table where the first field contained alpha (or other non-numeric) characters in any data in that column, and inserted a new Autonumber field as the first field in that table instead. That did the trick and solved the problem.

This related to Access 2000.
