Sorry for the late reply never got the notification by email that some one replied.
When you say it will slow down INSERTs any ideas by how much? we are inserting around 115,000 records each day some times more.
The reason behind this is that I have to delete data regularly and I'm finding it is causing deadlock. I thought if I partition I could just drop a partition.
Maybe partitioning isn't the best solution. Any suggestions are welcome.
