Hi Charles,

If I understand correctly, you had a previous version of MySQL Installer and MySQL Server and when you upgraded the MySQL Installer version to 8.0.19 your MySQL Server 5.7.x installation was upgraded to 5.7.29. Is that correct?

It looks as though the data folder of your MySQL Server installation got corrupted or at the very least the permissions on the data folder changed. Also, it could be that files that needed to updated were in use at the moment of the backup. Are you able to initiate a new reconfiguration in MySQL Installer after this error took place?

You mention that your sever is running. How are you able to determine that? Are you able to access a database and query data? Even when running, the Samples and Examples configuration page continues to show it as not running?

Finally, can you provide the bug report that you are referring to?

Thanks.
