I have recently got into this issue: that trying to open in WB a connection created in a previous WB version would fail to connnect (this seems to happen in rare cases). For those users, deleting the connection and creating a new one with the same parameters made it go back to normal. Are you saying that you can connect to the Admin section of WB and not to the query editor?
