Re: Start slave fails
Hi Rick,
I backed up the master database with locking enabled and immediately setup the slave. I also saved the master log position *before* taking the backup. So I am confused why the replication should fail for any query as the slave should catch up from a time before the backup and hence should give consistent results.
If there is any other way of setting up replication (I cannot shutdown the master as it is live), please let me know so I can try.
