I assume it should work. One use of replication is to support off-line backups. Right now, people doing SP work and adding comments, would not see the commentary saved.
Sounds like a bug that just got missed. We're very careful about data. I don't think many folks compare the SPs from source to replica during development work....
I guess I'll report it as an issue and see what they say.
