Does the username you're specifying in the backup command have SELECT privilege to the tables in your naudit database?
Is there any chance you're using the "--no-data" (or "-d" for short) option to mysqldump? This can be specified on the command-line, and it can also appear in a my.cnf file like this:
[mysqldump]
no_data
