I’m not so sure that this whole issue needs to be classed as a problem. For me, the need to perform CAST and or CONVERT calls has made my code that much stronger. I am using this library in a mission critical application and so I must ensure that not just for now but in the future that my code will perform the same functions.
I apologize if you (reggie) thought that I was complaining. I’m not.
Coders are at most times lazy in nature (myself included) wanting libraries and mods to perform every function with the least possible effort for the maximum functionality.
I appreciate all the work that everyone has put in and continues to put in. I only hope I can help along the way.
