There were some php files under System32, that I'd put there following another user's suggested fix. Removed these.

Ran through all the steps on your webpage again. Doublechecked php.ini and httpd.conf. Nothing is missing.

Apache runs fine, PHP runs fine. The web server serves up php pages with no problem. php_connect still returns the "undefined function mysqlconnect()" error.
