Thanks Rick! So does it mean for the total memory foot print, the following equation holds good?
Global buffers + threadbuffers*max connections = Mysql memory
where
Global buffers = keybuffer size + innodb buffer pool size + max_heap_table_size*total memory tables + cache size ?
