Re: How to Raise Error ?

Hi Vishal

MySQL uses ANSI procedural language (SQL/PSM). ANSI offers a method to raise errors but at present this hasn't been implemented by MySQL.

There are a couple of solutions to the problem, neither of which are ideal but do offer some short term method to deal with the problem.

You can either do it via a procedure/table combination which is explained here.

Or you can use a view

The second method doesn't return a particualry helpfull message but it depends if thats a problem for your application or not
