7z is can be made and read with 7-Zip on windows.

vi editor can do it, if you can use vi.

IIRC, the script was also encrypting the 7z file to attach to email.
You'll need to find out how to decrypt the file or it will be useless to you, like an ashtray on a motorcycle.
