I made some systematic error - think I wrote ..;username= instead of ...;user= in progress jdbc string - apparently this causes the driver to crash! Sorry if this has caused you to waste some time. I had corrected this in MT, but because of the crash the corrected connection string wasnt saved it seems.

anyways - both when commenting the section you mentioned AND when using your new patch, I come a bit further. However now I get this a few seconds after I click <next> from "source schemata selection" ie. after having selected the schema I want to migrate: A dialog box with title:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library", contents:
"Program ...MySQLMigrationTool.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unexpected way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information"
