Yes, very much so,you are very much getting my problem. I agree that I need to change the examples a bit in order to suit my own needs and the example you have referred to is a perfect start for me that is exactly what I am looking for at the moment. If some one can give a similar/simpler example, then it will give me a huge boost. What I also need is some tips on where to save these C++ files in order to compile them and get working with MySQL accompanies by compiling commands.

Thanks a lot and you have been a great help so far. A credit to the MySQL community that I must say. Once I get that working test code, I can let you know whether the installation of MYSQL++ has gone well.Appreciated.
