Re: MySQL Installer 8.0.28 installation fails
Hi,
By removing the "MySQL80" part from the command you are simply telling MySQL to be started as a process instead of running as a service in your command prompt.
If you try to run the service by selecting MySQL80 in the list of services does it continue to fail? If you uninstall and re-install MySQL Server with default configs do you also see the failure?
I attempted to reproduce your issue in a Windows Server 2019 machine without success. Any change in the configuration may not appear relevant but it is likely that is causing the failure. Can you provide exactly what options other than the defaults you selected during the configuration? You mentioned something about the logging options, perhaps you also changed the paths and said paths are pointing to another drive, have invalid chars, etc.
Regards.
