Hi all

I have the same problem BUT:

- MS firewall or other firewall NOT PRESENT (ms firewall service OFF)
- box that specifies enable root access from remote system - THICKED
- with MCAFEE On-Access Scan DISABLED, i got this ERROR 2003, but f i click on "Retry" it goes through correctly, BUT because there is also a mail server and other services/functionalities I can't leave it off, as you can imagine.
- with McAfee ENABLED with EXCLUSION of all data directory (E:\MySQLDATA\* and C:\Program Files\MySQL\* ) or MYSQL Directory, it does not work

Scenario:
MS Windows 2003 Standard Edition as domain controller, logged as Administrator on the Domain, all patches and stuff
Macfee

Any clues?
Is it a bug or something else?
