Hmm. The Makefile.PL seems to have some options for specifying C compiler flags. It defaults to the output of mysql_config --cflags.

Run "perl Makefile.PL --help" and read http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/mysql-config.html for more details.

What is reported by "mysql_config --cflags"?

If I were doing this I'd re-generate the Makefile, specifying both the output of mysql_config --cflags, and also the Sun 64-bit code option:

perl Makefile.PL --cflags="`mysql_config --cflags` -xcode=abs64"

Then try running "make".

Bill K.
