I have thought of moving to 4.1 but I'm honestly afraid of what it would mean for my PHP apps. I run an hosting company and there are hundreds of sites using the database server.

Not to mention, I asked this question (I don't think on this forum) and didn't really get an answer. I have two web servers that are separate from the database server and all connections happen through a Gigabit back-end network. Would I need to upgrade the MySQL client on the two web servers at the same time as upgrading the database server to 4.1?

Also, I'm concerned that I would not be able to compile in the standard MySQL library (not the MySQLi) in PHP. Can 4.1 use the standard mysql functions?

I know enough to be dangerous. Thanks for being patient!
