You might want to consider a few things after looking at your log file located in

its named something .err

I had the same problem with the service thing all you need to do is.
Make sure that your database formats are compatible,
The data from your old tables could be causing some problems.

If you dont need the old tables or wish to reinstall the mySQL service you could delete your Mysql folder and reinstall. But i do recommend you back up and tables you have created.
