I too am having problems. I can't connect via php scripts to my mysql server. so I try to see if there are any databases in mysqladmin, and none were there :Oo
I tried to have it create a report, but it came back with a note to say that I have to connect first, strange... first install I left everything as it was, the full installation path, then uninstalled and reinstalled but only having an installation path folder of "mysql", and still nothing works for me...

mysql command prompt works ok, I can view the database files and data there, the mysql manager seems to work ok, but what I did notice something else strange, i wasn't able to create users to login other than the admin which was set opon install... I've spent the last 5 hrs or so today trying to find a solution, but to no avail...

I'm on a new Win XP Pro system, no errors on the mysql install, but server will not connect...

I also noticed that the ODBC wasn't found nor the driver... the help files look nothing like what mine does, so I downloaded the file from this site today, only change was there was a few lines there mentioning the dll files installed, that's it, but driver still not found, nor looks like the help files...

I'm really stuck here, can any one help?
