Would love some help on this, been driving me mad for four days now - I am getting the error during install, although bizarrely, when I click retry it appears to go through without a problem and say that the install is fine.

Running Windows Server 2003 SP1
Have enabled port 3306 TCP to be open and have tried with Firewall enabled and disabled.
Have ensured that Remote desktop is disabled, not having any joy

I choose standard configuration
Select Install as a Windows service
Enter the root password
and then when i select 'execute'....

Prepare configuration - fine
Write configuration - fine
Start Service - fine
Apply Security settings - big no-no - everytime. Teling me the usual stuff about the firewall etc, however if I select Retry - it completes the process sayng settings have been applied.

If I run the configuration wizard again - it goes through with an error and says everything is fine. When I look in processes, I see it is running and I can log into the the MySQL monitor with the password no problem.

Still having problem serving from this instance. Help please.
