mglatts, I don't know what to say. that was awesome. thank you so much for taking the time to detail that. I've been so frusterated trying to get upgrade going and was skeptical about your solution up until the very last word. but then, Poof! It worked! For the record, I didn't have to update Apache though. Same old crusty 1.something that comes with PHPTriad, and it's working fine. So, maybe some folks could get away with reading your post just from point 3 down.
